All of a sudden! I see from the corner of my eye
Opportunity glitter something manic,
Panic, I can't shake this
When will I rest my head?
I could open my soul,
Freed like a bird from a cage
To leave me and never come back
And to be free and happy and living
To breathe in joy
And to live so strong
Loving until every last bit of my body is consumed by love
Choking me, but is this really what I want?
Isolate yourself, that's what you should do
Clamber back into your cage, head hung.
Shame, it could have been nice
But I am not cut out for this dream.

Box
I am in a
box.
I jump, I
break.
I long to be
released.
My stick
limbs pound but
The box does
not budge.
I, skeleton
girl, am stuck.
I can see
outside
Where is my
freedom?

Description of a character through description of their hands
"I looked at her hands as she held them under the tap. On her left wrist was a tattoo of a bird soaring over her veins towards the palm. The palm of her hand was barely visible under swirls and scribbles of black and blue ink, detailing for her all the tasks she needed to complete throughout the day. There was a long gash down the inside of her right palm, running from just below the little finger down to the base of the hand. If the stories were true, that scar was a red river of violence and fury, leading to a deep sea of pain and vengeance. No one ever dared to ask if the stories were true though, the bloody little line on her hand intimidated them all..."

Your eyes are a blue million miles
I could spend days sailing through those seas
but days I do not have, and oh, there's your smile!
Brighter than the brightest star
But time flies by at such speed
I could write pages about your smile, but time does not stretch that far
I hope you can forgive me for not wanting to wait
But the more time we waste the less time we have
So why hesitate?

Untitled Sonnet
Love, like a mirror, has no heart but plenty of ideas
Hours of anguish and admiration beholding a distant figure on the other side
Ahead of you a vibrant soul burning with passion, beauty and fear
And to you they seem so untouchable, and there's such a huge divide
So strong you feel your heart being torn in two
One for you, one for them though they'll never receive
The most precious gift that you can part with due
To the notion that you are not, and never will be
One to meet the expectations, and pain blazes so bright
You're blinded, and you're praying to any god and anyone
Knowing that they won't care or listen but hoping that they might
With all this confusion and emotion you feel your mind come undone
Love, like a magic mirror warps and distorts
No heart has a mirror only damaging thoughts.

You
When you smile it's at my heart
And you pull me back
To light, to life, to love
Flying, gliding
Clouds below sail by
We can move mountains
I'm carried on your wings.
Your eyes tell a story -
Different each time I look into them, they
Catch me, hold me, keep me
I fall, I plunge
Into them. Deep river of thought
I drift and and sink
They're my favourite.
Your arms pull me in
Hold me to your heart
Blanket, shield, rock
Uphold, upraise,
Time slows, a minute a heartbeat,
Existence beyond you and me is gone
In that instant everything is perfect.
But it is your ferocity that hypnotises me
Hold me in your blistering palm
Blaze, rage, ignite
You are fire, you are the inferno
Passion melts us like snow and burns
Erupt and spill, anger and emotion cascade
Hot magnet, attract me.
And you pull me back
To light, to life, to love
Flying, gliding
Clouds below sail by
We can move mountains
I'm carried on your wings.
Your eyes tell a story -
Different each time I look into them, they
Catch me, hold me, keep me
